I’m shingling my Shed which covers 12′ x 13′ of shingles. I heard cold them with a knife is the fastest. I don’t want to spend a fortune on it either.

We are stripping our roof and re-shingling in a few weeks and I’m wondering if their are any alternatives to renting a dumpster for disposing of the shingles. I want to recycle them if possible. We live in Massachusetts

Can you put roofing tar over shingles?
Does anyone know if you can cover roof shingles with tar? I have several small leaks in the roof over my porch and I cant find exactly where they are and I want to just place a layer of tar over the entire roof. Is this a excellent thought to do? The roof is in this area 5′ x 15′. I dont want to have to replace all the shingles if I dont have to.
How do you match old roofing shingles with new ones?
Our roof was replaced in this area 10 years ago. Now we want to have a skylight taken out (it leaks) but the company who did our roof back then isn’t around anymore. The new guy we’ve hired says he can’t find shingles that match, that even come close. How can we find matching shingles?
